Services

At Judy's Pet Palace, we offer the following services for your pets.

Introduction

A day at the grooming shop is not a traumatic event for your pet. They are getting plenty of attention and TLC. You could compare your pet’s experience to your attending a spa.
We groom a number of pets per day and though we could take one pet at a time through the grooming process, we can neither efficiently nor economically operate in this manner.
The following few pages will explain why each dog receives step by step personal attention. Grooming your pet takes time.

Step 1 - The Ruf-In -

All pets are prepared for their bath. Initial clipping is done by removing any excess body hair. Remaining hair is completely detangled with gentle brushing followed by a fine tooth comb. The nails are trimmed and ears cleaned at this time.
If dematting is required in order to keep a longer style, this can be time consuming and considered an extra service, thus fees apply.
If it is determined by your groomer that your pet is too matted, they will shave in the longest length possible.
15-45 minutes

Step 2 - Bathing -

Pets are bathed twice (more if necessary) in a mild shampoo and thoroughly rinsed. Cottonballs are put inside the ears to prevent water from getting in. Flea dips, hot oils, medicated baths and teeth brushing are used upon request by owner. Anal glands are cleaned at this time.

If your per is found with fleas, they will be dipped so as not to infest others at owner’s expense.
10-30 minutes

Step3  - Drying -

Before drying, we apply a coat conditioning spray called stuff. It conditions and helps the coat stay clean longer.

Your pet will be hand fluff dried”. This is done using a

K-9 force dryer. This blows excess moisture from the coat.

Then your pet is fluffed using a hands-free stand dryer

and gently brushed under warm air.

A secondary form of drying is “Open air drying”. This may be used if the primary form cannot or should not be used. Example: Some cats, puppies, or on elderly pets.
15-60 minutes

Step 4 - The Finish -
Most body work is done using clippers, while the face,
feet, legs, and tail are scissored.
While your pet is being finished, early arrivals can excite them and make it difficult to finish. Safety and quality are also compromised. So we ask that you call 30 minutes prior to your pick-up time.
Your pet’s finish work is done in order of pickup time, not drop off time Cologne, bows, and bandanas are applied for a final touch.
20-45 minutes

Pricing
The price for grooming is based on many things: breed, condition, behavior of pet, specialty cuts, and regularity (or lack of) grooming visits. For this reason we do not give exact quotes. But instead, we quote a price that may have a $5.00 range up to a $50.00 range. It averages $7.00 per 15 minutes. This is why two different customers with the same breed may have different prices.

Included in all grooming prices are:

 Scheduling Appointments

This can be tricky when your clients are animals. They are very unpredictable. We take pets in starting at 8:30am and last appointments are at 2:30pm. Pick-up times start at 10:30am through 5:00pm. Your pet’s visit can vary 2-4 hours or longer, pending the breed and volume of the day. Saturday is the busiest.
We try to keep your pet’s visit as short as possible. If you have a preference, you may pre-book your pick-up time by requesting it when make your appointment. Example: Drop off at 8:30am and pick-up at 10:30am. However, any pick-up time scheduled is not a guarantee - any number of things can take place that may put us behind schedule such as potty accidents, uncooperative pets, etc. Another reason why we ask that you call before you come in for your pet. For pets with special needs, we do allow “stay with your pet”. A consultation with your groomer is required for this extra service; however, this takes valuable time away from other clients, so there is an extra fee.
